Description

This module interrogates the relationship between our bodies, new technologies and science. It aims to find ways for art to interact with science, but also ways in which performance influences technology. It explores genre boundaries, hybrids and post-disciplinarity by practically examining art practices such as bioart, dance-tech, netart, and virtual worlds. Students will work within an intensive workshop setting to create new artwork that dialogues with technology and science. This setting will become a laboratory for work across fields and follows in the work of practitioners such as Stelarc, Anna Dumitriu, Troika Ranch or Critical Art Ensemble.
